Rare stunning French faience ewer in Gien's 200-year-old Renaissance Fond Bleu pattern with cherubs, dragons, gods and goddesses amid fanciful scrollwork. Colorful geometric borders and rims. Wonderful snake handle. Entirely hand painted in 19th century Gien faience colors not usually found on contemporary Gien faience. Marked "Gien France" with the castle mark used by the company from 1984 through 1989. A unique piece in mint condition.
